Hi Gail - My great friend Lauren might be adopting Noah soon. Mila and Frida are thrilled to have a cousin in Houston, TX. We’re hoping everything works out smoothly. On a happier note, Mila and Frida will be celebrating their 3rd birthday next Saturday and they’re absolutely loving life! Here are a few recent photos of them. On a more somber note, it’s nearing the anniversary of Luka’s disappearance in Dallas, TX. My mother is still deeply saddened, and as a family, we continue to pray for his safe return. Your support means a lot to us.

On behalf of Vanessa and the rest of the family, thank you. As I've said in the gift messages, everyone - the entire family and all of their friends - are all completely enthralled and in love with Roger. I've had dogs my entire life and until Roger, the best I ever had was one from Whispering Winds which I adopted in 2007 and is why I implored Vanessa to do the same. I was proven right. Even the veterinarian remarked about how great he is. We arrived in London 3 weeks ago and I can assure you Roger is one of the most, if not the most, well taken care of dog there is. Aside from having a decent backyard, they live close to a huge park where he is taken two times a day and able to run off leash with other dogs. Best regards for the new year, Brett.

Gidget’s (Candy Apple/Redd Ryder) 10th Christmas (she turned 10 on Christmas Day—hard to believe!). She gets along great with our lab puppy Naomi as well as my brother’s retriever Paloma (and my niece 😍). Gidget has had anxiety which has improved. Losing Anabelle (Chloe/Taz) was very hard for her, but she is still the most cuddly, affectionate, and verbal girl we’ve had!
I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas! Happy New Year. We think of you often.

He excelled at the children’s reading program at the library, with hi-school student during high stress times and especially visiting nursing homes.

Congrats to your folks for retiring this year and for you taking over Whispering Winds Labradoodles.
We have 2 labradoodles from you. Our eldest is Watson. He will be 15 in October. The gentlest and kind natured dog. Totally should have been a therapy dog with his calm demeanor and how he gravitates to the sick or injured. I have attached a photo I took this week of him – he always has a tongue hanging out – so cute. Our younger boy is Kai (Born Baccus). He is a total goofball and the opposite of Watson. He is high energy and quite rambunctious. He is now 2 years old.
We live in Vancouver, Canada. We have a few friends who have also bought puppies from WWL. We all have super special dogs. Such a treat.

Hi Gail, hope you and your family are doing well. I wanted to update you on how wonderful Sydney is and send some pictures. We have a place on Maui now and spend part of the year there. We used the Direct Airport Release program so Sydney does not have to quarantine. She is loving island life. Almost every time we go walk the beach someone comes up and tells us how adorable she is and starts petting her. She makes people smile. Sydney is still an easy going fun loving dog. Best decision ever to make her part of our family.

Today is Sherman‘s 10th birthday. Wanted to send you some pictures, and say once again, thank you for such an amazing dog. He has been the centerpiece of our family since we got him. He is happy, healthy, and still acts like he’s 2. He loves going to the lake, swimming, cheese, bacon, peanut butter and tennis balls, not necessarily in that order :) As you can see in the pic, he is NEVER without a tennis ball in his mouth of close by. He’s such a good boy.

I've been meaning to write to you just to check in since we reached Biskit's first "gotcha" day on December 4th.
I want to tell you what an unbelievably good dog Biskit is. He's not perfect, but he is so awesome and we all just love him sooooo much. When you initially described his personality as "playful but mellow", well that couldn't have been more accurate. If we want to go for a 3 mile walk, he's up for that! If we want to just snuggle on the couch, he's up for that! He is also very smart and has learned commands so quickly. He's definitely the smartest dog we've ever had. And he's also so intuitive. If someone is sick or upset, he seems to sense that and he gives that person extra attention.
He hates his crate. I've never had a dog who hated his crate like this. Fortunately, he's such a great dog, he doesn't have to go in there very often. When we first brought him home we figured out that he wouldn't sleep if he couldn't see us. We put him in his crate on a table at the end of our bed and added a night light. It's been smooth sailing with him ever since. Of course, eventually we felt confident enough in his house training and now he sleeps on the bed with us every night. I especially love it when he snuggles before bedtime.

Duke (adopted in 2015) and Coco (adopted in 2019) are doing well and are bring us joy and smiles every day. We became empty nesters this year as our youngest started his freshman year in college. After having four kids run around the house for the past 24 years, it has been an adjustment. We are so thankful for these pups who still fill the house with love! We miss Dusty (adopted in 2009) who passed away last year, but we think of him often and the memories of him always make us happy.
Just wanted to let you know that our sweet dogs are doing well and we feel so lucky to have these fun pups!!

Shaggy is so sweet and he's a beautiful puppy. He's sensitive. He loves attention. Our son, George 8yrs old, plays a lot with him and chases Shaggy around in the house. We play fetch with Shaggy. He is not a "big eater". He takes his time and doesn't ever seem to have a huge appetite. If he gets up and plays with our son in the morning and doesn't eat beforehand, sometimes he will vomit. I feel like Shaggy is just a sensitive (not hearty) creature. He weighs 15 lbs. I'll send a photo in another email. He loves to plop down in our heather bush. It's absolutely so cute how he likes to rest there.

We have decided we want to add another Whispering Winds puppy to the Wetzel family! I am ready to put down a payment, but just wondered if I need to fill out the application again? She is amazing & the sweetest ever. She is such a huge part of our family, including extended family, friends & neighbors, as everyone adores her.
She loves to hike, walk the neighborhood & snuggle.

Gidget and I (and our Mom) are doing ok. Gidget “had trouble listening” for a while and she’s gotten clingier with me but I guess I’ve gotten clingier with her since Anabelle died. It’s still hard though. Gidget and I share a recliner when we watch tv. ;)

We haven't spoken with you in years now. I wanted to let you know that we continue to adore Penny. She will be eight years old this week. She now has a 6 year old brother and 3 year old sister (both human). We've moved to Bainbridge Island, and she loves tagging along with us on all our outings to the beaches and trails. She now has a 6 year old brother and 3 year old sister (both human). We've moved to Bainbridge Island, and she loves tagging along with us on all our outings to the beaches and trails. Hi Gail and Denise - I am sorry I have not written until now to give you an update on our Sophie. It has already been a month since we picked her up at Denise’s! She is wonderful and we are madly in love with her. It has been an easy adjustment welcoming her into our family.
She had her first vet visit and shots (her third) last week, but our vet had her come in twice before that for “happy” visits two weeks in a row just so she could get acquainted with the place and people before her first “visit”. I think that made all the difference. They couldn’t believe how calm she was for her exam.
She is very healthy and the vet had very good things to say about how well Whispering Winds had cared for her...
She learned her name within 2 days of being with us, and she learned “sit” almost as quickly. She knows “lay down” and now she’s learning “shake” and “off”, and to walk on a leash. She’s smart and such a joy ♥️
She slept in her crate (the wire mesh type) from the first night. We had some crying the first two nights but then she settled in really well and just goes right in at bedtime. We put it in the living room during the day and she goes in and out of it all day playing, napping. She really loves it. She is so cute, she walks alongside it when I move it from room to room. 🥰
She is absolutely adorable and gets so much attention when we sit outside in our front yard chairs. We live across the street from a park so we gets lots of people walking by wanting to stop and chat about her. We’ve never met so many people in our own neighborhood!!
She loves all her toys, but the wiffel ball is her favorite right now! She has met other dogs in the park and also friends. We want to be careful but also still socialize her. She had a play date with Finn, Liz ’s whispering winds wonderful dog (Walker and Fern’s puppy). Sophie’s half brother! They had so much fun playing!

Hello Gail!
Checking in - we are having a fantastic summer with kona. She has met new furry family members, and though not a big fan of going swimming, loves getting on the paddle board and going for a ride. She discovered that she loved going from one paddle board to another so on our camping trip , the kids put 3 paddle boards together and kona happily walked back and forth between them. It was a blast.

Can you believe I’m 17 months old. I’m having so much fun. My mom’s let me play in the grass on my walks. I’m always excited for my next walk or adventure and I really like going to agility training. I love doing all the different toys they have out there for me to do. I’m a certified therapy dog and 1 day a week I dress up and go to an Assisted Care Community and make lots of people smile. They hug on me and I just lean on them and give them kisses on their hands. I like working and making people happy, but most of all I love playing and doing zoomies. My moms are always telling me I’m adorable and such a joy to have in their lives. I just give them a big smile and lots of kisses.
